During more than 15 years living and working in slums and inner cities in Asia and North America, Craig has established a number of initiatives to care for vulnerable kids and orphans, as well as projects for those marginalized by society. For 8 years, Craig served as the International Coordinator of Servants, an organization working within the slums of Asia. His postgraduate research in International Development from Massey University led to the publication of his first book, The Urban Halo: a story of hope for orphans of the poor.

Hitomi holds a Ph.D. from Fuller in the field of contextualized education. Her background in education, curriculum design and creative inner healing has included work among young people in the US, Japan and Cambodia. A native of Japan, Hitomi grew up in both Japan and the US. As a competitive swimmer who loves the water, her favorite memories are swimming with wild dolphins in Hawaii and sitting in outdoor hot springs in her Japanese hometown.

After growing up in a Phnom Penh slum community, Serey was moved to start working with vulnerable children more than seven years ago as one of the first volunteer Alongsiders in Cambodia. Her gifted leadership saw her appointed as a full time staff member soon after and she quickly rose to lead the whole movement throughout ten provinces of Cambodia. She is married to Makara and has two young children.

Phka is an experienced community mobilizer, having worked with networks across Cambodia in partnership with OneHope and Samaritan's Purse. Phka recently joined the Alongsiders team. He is married with three sons and enjoys playing table tennis, volleyball and football.

Dave Greenfield {chief financial officer }

Dave has more than 40 years' experience in financial leadership, including as an auditor and accountant for a number of corporations and as Chief Financial Officer for Presbyterian Support Services. He was the architect and designer for Operation Mobilization’s worldwide financial management software and their international Forex system. In 2002 he started Mercy Teams International, which established projects in seven countries around Southeast Asia.

Darath comes from a small village on an island in Kandal province, Cambodia. He has a degree in accounting and lives in a university student dorm as a student monitor. Most recently, Darath oversaw the accounts at a school. Now he manages our Khmer staff and works in the Finance Department for Alongsiders, overseeing the day to day details of our financial system. In his spare time Darath is a youth leader in his church and enjoys singing and playing guitar.

Mart-Jan is a mechanical engineer by training, having worked as a project manager in the petrochemical and energy industries. He lives in Cambodia together with his wife Talitha and their three children, Joy, Micha and Amy. Mart-Jan dreams of a camp filled with children, immersed in nature and perhaps experiencing the ocean for the first time. His hobbies are photography and sailing.

Meera is an experienced corporate coach and former journalist, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She enjoys walking alongside the leaders from different cultures and challenging them to discover the many new and exciting ways to lead and grow the movement in their countries. In this process, she helps them to realize their potential to lead and fulfill their potential in Alongsiders. In all of this her passion remains people and building relationships.

Nay escaped Cambodia's Khmer Rouge regime as a child, relocating to New Zealand as a young refugee. From an early age, she felt drawn back to serve her own people, leading to many years of work in Cambodian slums.  She has pioneered ministries among women trapped in prostitution in Cambodia and in Canada's notorious Downtown Eastside, as well as served as a mentor to many young leaders. She is a trained and talented educator and mother to the noisiest kids in Phnom Penh, Jayden and Micah.

Lakhina spent a year in the United States on an exchange program with Mennonite Central Committee. On returning to Cambodia, she has been a passionate advocate for children and she enjoys using her amazing English skills for welcoming visitors and interns. Lakhina is a keen soccer player and loves all kinds of Cambodian foods.

Andy is a talented wordsmith and photographer who has been the chief Editor and writer behind the orphan-care website, UnitingForChildren.org. Most recently, Andy has worked in Cambodia helping young people transition from orphanages to living in the community. He loves cooking food from scratch - especially New Mexican enchiladas and green chile stew. Andy is happily married to Hitomi and together they have three daughters.

Growing up in a Phnom Penh slum, Karuna started out as a "little sister" in the Alongsiders movement. Today she is an Alongsider mentor herself and a key member of the youth group. Though she grew up without a father in an impoverished community, Karuna speaks three languages: Khmer, English and Korean. Her dream is to one day be a tour guide.

Gladys is from the Philippines and has a varied background in IT, search engine marketing and administration. She has been based in Cambodia with her husband for the past three years. She likes to mobilize people to catch a vision for the nations. She cooks their own food and likes going to the wet market and always gets fascinated by the Cambodian gastronomy.

Pheaktra and Theara handle the Photoshop and InDesign work that goes into creating the comics used all over the world. They have become adept at working with multiple languages and fonts. Theara is also a former "little brother", who is now an Alongsider himself.

Talitha mentors leaders from different countries through the Alongsiders Online Leadership Academy. She also enjoys home schooling her three kids. Talitha is married to Mart-Jan and grew up in the Netherlands, where she worked as a nurse till she became a mother. Talitha has always loved camp work and serving youth. She and Mart-Jan will be helping oversee the development of Shalom Valley - a new campground in Cambodia. In her free time she enjoys walking, reading, catching up with friends, listening music and swimming.

Dawn has spent her life perfecting the gift of radical hospitality, welcoming the least and the lost into her home wherever she lives. She has fostered dozens of children, taken in men recently released from prison, cared for intellectually disabled children and sponsored refugees. For the last 20 years she has lived in Singapore, traveling widely to establish ministries amongst the poorest children in the region, leading Mercy Teams International.
