MODULE 4: RAISING UP A GENERATION

We believe this is a "kairos moment" for many nations in the world - especially in Asia and Africa. At no other time in history have we been able to communicate and share resources and training so easily, thanks to the internet.

And at no other time in history have there been so many young people in the Non-Western world. In fact 90% of the world's youth live in the developing world. The vast majority of the population in many of these countries is aged under 30.

In this module you will learn keys for raising up this generation of young people. You will learn about influencing pastors, motivating youth, and mobilizing one generation to reach the next. Watch this video to get started:

BIBLE STUDY

The story of Esther in the Old Testament is the story of how God works in the world.  From this story we get the famous phrase "kairos moment" - which is a moment in time when the Holy Spirit draws near to do a special work in and through a person or group.  The Holy Spirit creates and orchestrates these kairos moments.

What is interesting is WHO God chose to use to save the people of Israel. He didn't choose the king, he didn't choose the priest, or a great warrior. Instead, God chose to use an orphaned girl named Esther. She was young. She was orphaned. And she was a girl! These 3 things would make her an unlikely leader in many places. 

But God is calling the young. He is calling those who are overlooked. He is calling those who are orphaned or fatherless or from broken families. And he is even calling girls. To lead...to disciple...to be bold in their faith. And ultimately God wants to use them to transform your nation.

But there is always a cost. Esther faced this cost when she realized that speaking out to the king could cost her life:

"I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish."  (Esther 4:16)

God could only work through Esther IF she was willing to lay down her life. Are you willing to call young Christians to this kind of commitment? Are you willing to challenge them to give their lives for God?

In the story of Esther, God used a faithful Man of God named Mordecai to speak to Esther and challenge her. Mordecai was the man God used to point out that Esther was facing a "kairos moment". These are Mordecai's words to Esther:

"For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

The words translated "for such a time as this" are where we get the Greek term "kairos". So, Mordecai showed Esther that God was bringing change. Are you willing to be a Mordecai for this generation? Are you willing to be a Mordecai for your nation? - calling the Esthers and the Daniels - the young men and women of faith - to lay down their lives for God?
